Overview

The experience begins with a restorative night in Arusha, continues into the dramatic Ngorongoro highlands and culminates in two immersive nights on the celebrated plains of Serengeti National Park.

Private game drives, handpicked accommodation, an elegant bush breakfast, a sundowner and personalised guiding allow guests to experience the landscape at a considered pace. Every element can be tailored to the travelling party’s interests, dietary needs, preferred language and desired level of exclusivity.

5 Days / 4 Nights
Arusha, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania. On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, a Zamia Africa representative will meet you, assist with your luggage and escort you by private vehicle to your luxury lodge in Arusha.

Settle in and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy the lodge gardens, swimming pool, spa facilities or tranquil views. Later, meet your private safari guide for a personalised briefing covering the route, weather, wildlife expectations and preparations for the journey ahead.

Day 2 Arusha to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, leave Arusha in a private, customised 4×4 safari vehicle and travel through the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Arrive at your luxury lodge for lunch and check-in. The afternoon is intentionally unhurried, allowing time to relax in the cool highland atmosphere. As evening approaches, enjoy a sundowner at a scenic location, with selected refreshments and light bites as the sun descends across the landscape. Return to the lodge for dinner and prepare for the following morning’s crater game drive.

Day 3 Full Days in Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Wake early and descend approximately 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater for a private game drive. Its grasslands, forests and wetlands support an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas and abundant birdlife. The crater is also one of Tanzania’s important areas for the possibility of seeing the endangered black rhinoceros.

Enjoy an elegant bush breakfast or private breakfast experience at an authorised scenic location. Continue exploring with your guide before ascending from the crater and travelling towards Serengeti National Park. The landscape gradually opens into vast plains, with wildlife viewing along the way. Depending on timing and conditions, enjoy an afternoon or sunset game drive before arriving at your lodge or tented camp.

Day 4 Full-Day Serengeti Safari

Begin with an early-morning game drive as the Serengeti awakens. Morning hours often reveal predators on the move, elephants travelling between feeding grounds and herds of zebras, gazelles and wildebeest spread across the plains.

Enjoy a private bush breakfast in an authorised location, then continue the morning game drive. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, or remain in the park with a luxury picnic lunch. Later, set out again with a route tailored to recent sightings, the season and your interests. Pause for refreshments as the sun settles over the plains, then return for dinner and a second night in Serengeti.

Day 5 Serengeti to Arusha

Begin the final day with an optional early-morning game drive or a relaxed breakfast at the lodge. After check-out, leave Serengeti and begin the scenic journey to Arusha, continuing to view wildlife as you travel through the park and onward through the Ngorongoro highlands.

A prepared picnic lunch or selected restaurant lunch is provided during the journey. On arrival in Arusha, transfer to your hotel, Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport according to your onward arrangements.
